Older Adult Technology Services (OATS) has received funding of $2.5 million from the Humana Foundation’s Health Equity Innovation Fund, and this fund will be utilized to educate people on the difficulties of social isolation and loneliness that older people generally suffer from, and will help them to address them.
With the help of technology, the company will find a solution to social isolation for older adults so that they will be able to fight it and overcome it. This investment will help the company in creating practical tools that will help the older generation to remain in touch with society and enjoy their elderhood with prosperity and happiness.
OATS was founded by Tom Kamber and others in the year 2004 with a vision to help the older generation with new technology and advancements, and how to use it to live better. The company started with a 10-week free program in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, and with word-of-mouth publicity, the company expanded to the whole of New York City with more than 70 partner sites and 10K class sessions.
